چکیده

In the paper the sensory system for a FES gait reeducation system is proposed. The gait training orthosis for incomplete spinal cord injured patients is being developed. Sensory feedback and walking phase detection are the most important parts of the orthosis. Implementation of several types of sensors into the rehabilitative system can make it more reliable. Four accelerometers, gyroscope and two goniometers were used in the measurement system. Data collected by the sensors were input into mathematical algorithms. As a reference measurement device an optical position measurement system was used. The data collected were analyzed offline in order to develop a suitable walking phase detection. In order to choose the appropriate sensors, the assessments were performed in three healthy subjects. The results have shown a need and advantages of the multisensor use. The appropriate feedback signal will be delivered to the patient who will voluntarily control the functional electrical stimulation.

Gait Re - education : The Swing Phase Estimation

This paper presents the use of multiple sensors for walking assessment and provision of cognitive feedback during early re-education of incomplete spinal cord injured (SCI) humans. The paper is focused on the swing phase estimation as an important part of the Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) gait re-education system for incomplete spinal cord injured persons. The proposed sensory system ...

A survey on Alzheimer’s disease detection using gait analysis

Introduction: Early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD), as a neurodegenerative disease and the most common cause of dementia in the elderly people, using gait analysis have been particularly noted by researcher in recent years. Because this novel method is non-invasive, less cost, and feasible in non-clinical and laboratory environments. Therefore, in this Meta-Analysis review article, detec...

Gait Restoration by Functional Electrical Stimulation

For over 40 years, research labs have been developing gait assist systems that use electrical stimulation of muscle to restore function to limbs paralyzed as a result of spinal cord injury. The concept of functional electrical stimulation (FES) is simple, but realization is challenging. While there are some similarities between FES-aided gait and a bipedal robot walking machine, there are also ...

An Fes-assisted Gait Training System for Hemiplegic Stroke Patients Based on Inertial Sensors

An inertial sensor mounted on the foot of the affected body side represents an alternative to traditional foot switches in Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)assisted gait rehabilitation systems. The inertial sensor consisting of 3 gyroscopes and 3 accelerometers can be utilised to detect gait phases which can be applied to synchronise the electrical stimulation with the gait. Additionally,...
